Mark One Financial Services was founded in 2008, but the foundations were laid many years earlier.
Before launching Mark One Financial Services, Mark Duguid started his career inside the banking world, working for Bank Of Scotland International Division. In 2005, Mark took the decision to pursue a career as a mortgage adviser and joined the Remax Mortgage Network. During that time, he was recognised as Top Mortgage Adviser in the network 3 years in a row! In the period with Remax, he helped clients navigate mortgages and protection in an industry that looked very different from the one we know today. Regulation was lighter. Consumer protection was limited. Advice often lacked personalisation and clarity.
Mark saw the frustrations people faced — the jargon, the uncertainty and the gaps in service. He believed clients deserved more. They deserved advisers who listened, explained and acted solely in their best interest.
With that vision, Mark One Financial Services was created.

Mark Duguid
Principal
Mark Duguid has been advising on mortgages since 2005 and has 20 years experience in the field. Since 2008, Mark has earned 34 network related awards for mortgage advice and is a well renowned adviser in the central belt of Scotland.
Carol Hutchison
Personal Assistant
Carol has worked with Mark One Financial Services since 2010. She runs the backroom, dealing with the mortgage and insurance processing plus all compliance needs, ensuring business flows through quickly and safely.
Louise Duguid
Administrative Assistant
After working a successful career with Persimmon Homes, Louise became involved in the business in early 2013. She also works in the backroom and deals with the administrative side of the business, arranging clients reviews and managing campaigns.
